Whether you’re a die-hard aviation enthusiast or just looking for a spectacular day out with the family, RIAT at RAF Fairford is an unmissable event. Each day brings something slightly different, with Friday acting as a warm-up to the epic 7-hour flying displays on Saturday and Sunday. Let’s break it down:

Flying Display Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Approx. 4 hours)
Showground Open: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Highlights:

  • Officially considered the Preview Day, Friday offers a more relaxed atmosphere and shorter queues.

  • You’ll still enjoy 4 hours of flying displays, often including full rehearsals of some display teams.

  • Aircraft continue to arrive before and after the flying programme, so cameras at the ready all day.

  • Great for photographers and enthusiasts who want less crowding and more access to the aircraft and pilots.

  • These are the main event days and feature the full might of RIAT’s flying programme.

  • You’ll see fast jets, display teams, cargo aircraft, historic warbirds, and international military showcases.

  • Expect unique flypasts, rare aircraft, and joint demonstrations you won’t see anywhere else.

  • The showground comes alive with static aircraft exhibitions, aviation-themed zones, and interactive experiences.

Flying Display Programme
  • Updated daily and available via the RIAT App or printed programmes (available for purchase at the show).

  • Displays are curated for variety and impact, everything from Eurofighter Typhoons to the Red Arrows, F-35Bs, A400Ms, and guest performers from across the globe.

  • Don't miss signature flypasts or commemorative formations. RIAT is famous for showcasing one-of-a-kind aerial spectacles.

Explore the Static Aircraft Displays
  • Walk among aircraft from air forces across the world, from fighter jets to heavylift transports, surveillance planes, and even helicopters.

  • Many aircraft have open access so you can step inside cockpits or cargo bays.

  • Crew members and pilots are often on hand to answer questions and pose for photos, perfect for aviation fans and kids alike!

Meet the Pilots & Crews
  • Several teams and nations host Meet & Greet sessions at their static displays.

  • Get autographs, ask about the aircraft, and take pictures with the crew.
