The Big Guide to RIAT is proud to be partnered with Wayside Camping for RIAT 2026, helping to promote this fantastic campsite to visitors attending this year’s show.
After four successful years of building a welcoming campsite with a friendly atmosphere, the team at Wayside are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning campers once again. It’s been great to see the community around the campsite continue to grow year by year, becoming a real part of the RIAT weekend experience for many visitors.
We’ll also be working closely with Wayside Camping in the lead up to RIAT 2026 to keep you informed with all of their latest updates and important information for guests staying on site.
Tents Only
Wayside Camping is a tent only site, offering a more traditional camping setup. With no large motorhomes or caravans around, you get a more open feel to the campsite and nothing blocking your view of the skies at RIAT.
Day Visitors Are Welcome
Day visitors are welcome to wayside, and Its FREE for people on foot. Car parking is available at £15 per car. Please note that parking is limited.
Five Minute Walk to RAF Fairford
Do you fancy a Five minute walk from your tent to the show, and not have to worry about parking in the show and sitting in the traffic. Then Wayside Camping is a perfect site for you.
Why Stay at Wayside Camping for RIAT?
If you’re looking to make the most of your Royal International Air Tattoo weekend, Wayside Camping offers a well located and relaxed base just a short walk from RAF Fairford. Being only around 5 minutes from the showground means you’re very close to the action, with the opportunity to see aircraft flying overhead during the flying displays without even leaving the campsite.
Wayside is a tent only site, which gives it a much more open feel compared to mixed campsites. With no large caravans or motorhomes around, you’ll have clear views across the surrounding area, making it a great spot for aviation photography as aircraft arrive, depart, and display throughout the weekend.

Once the flying stops for the day, Wayside has a great social atmosphere with its on site bar and evening entertainment giving the campsite a lively night time feel, making it easy to relax and enjoy the RIAT weekend without having to head back out.
With easy pedestrian access towards the showground and everything you need already on site, Wayside Camping is a convenient and enjoyable option for RIAT visitors who want to stay close by and soak up the full airshow experience both day and night.
FREE Viewing for Day Visitors
Wayside Camping will once again be opening its on site bar and aircraft viewing area to RIAT visitors who are not staying at the campsite. Entry to the site is completely free for those arriving on foot, giving you access to the bar, coffee truck, food vendors, and a relaxed viewing space to enjoy the flying displays.
For those travelling by car, a limited number of day parking spaces will be available for £15, allowing you to park on site and make full use of the facilities throughout the day. It’s a great option if you’re looking for somewhere close to RAF Fairford to watch the action, grab refreshments, and enjoy the atmosphere away from the main showground.
